Features: Natural resources are the material foundation for human survival and development, and the source of social wealth. The development, utilization, and protection of natural resources are the main content of national land development and regulation. The "Hunan Volume" consists of fifteen chapters, divided into two parts: the first part is the comprehensive section, with five chapters covering resource geographical environment and regional development, current status and characteristics of resources and their evaluation, regional division of natural resources, prospects and strategies for resource development, and measures and suggestions for the development, utilization, and governance and protection of natural resources. The second part is the resource section, with ten chapters covering land resources, water resources, mineral resources, climatic resources, forest resources, grassland resources, aquatic resources, wild plant resources, wildlife resources, and tourism resources. The structure of each chapter in the resource section is generally written in five parts: resource overview, types and distribution, comprehensive evaluation, development and utilization, development prospects, and strategies and countermeasures. The overall framework of the "Hunan Volume" complies with the specifications determined by the Nanning Editorial Committee Meeting of the General Editorial Committee of the "Compendium."
