Features: To reflect the status of China's natural resources, study the prospects of resource development, and formulate conservation and protection strategies as a basis and reference for decision-making by, planning and programming, and guiding development construction, the State Planning Commission decided to compile a series of 《China Natural Resources Compendium》. 《Yunnan Volume》 is the 35th volume in this series. The Yunnan Provincial Planning Commission attached great importance to the compilation of this book. With the support and coordination of the resource management authorities in Yunnan Province, such as water conservancy, land management, meteorology, power, coal, geology, and tourism, the editorial committee and writing team were established promptly. Following the unified requirements proposed by the General Editorial Committee and in line with the actual conditions of Yunnan, the framework of the Yunnan volume was studied and determined. The writing team extensively collected surveys and research findings on Yunnan's natural resources from various resource management, exploration, planning, and design departments within the province. Through organization and analysis, efforts were made to distinguish truth from fiction, ensuring that the resources were based on reliable foundations. Subsequently, comprehensive reviews were conducted on the formation background, occurrence conditions, current and potential values, as well as the directions and approaches for the development and protection of various natural resources. This book is a reference tool for information, and according to expert evaluations, it will become an important reference for understanding, promoting, and developing Yunnan. It can also serve as a textbook for relevant majors in universities and colleges, as well as a reference for research institutions.
