The Ministry of Construction organized the "Nineth Five-Year Plan" Residential Design Competition themed "China's Residential Towards the 21st Century" and the 1998 Annual Excellent Residential Design Selection this year. The aim is to summarize the rich experience and achievements in residential construction in recent years, and to showcase a series of urban residential design works that are functional, economical, safe, comfortable, environmentally friendly, and conducive to sustainable development. Compared to previous residential design competitions and excellent residential design selections, the winning works of this event have made breakthroughs and innovations in aspects such as apartment layout, spatial organization, kitchen and bathroom design, equipment configuration, energy conservation, structural selection, and increasing technological content. This book is a collection of the works selected in this competition.
