Features: The compilation work of the Guizhou volume of the Compendium of Natural Resources of China was organized by the Guizhou Provincial Planning Commission in the second half of 1992, in accordance with the requirements of the State Planning Commission. The preparation was carried out by the Land and Territory Department, Research Institute, Comprehensive Department, and Zoning Office, with strong support from departments such as agriculture, forestry, water conservancy, geology, meteorology, and land management, as well as the planning commissions of various prefectures, cities, and counties. After a year of effort, the compilation of this book was completed. The book is divided into three parts—comprehensive, resources, and regional—comprising 22 chapters and a total of 480,000 words. It provides a relatively comprehensive and in-depth description of the background of resource formation in Guizhou, the status of its resources, their development and utilization, and protection strategies. The social and economic data cited in the comprehensive and regional sections were uniformly adopted based on the statistical yearbooks published by the Guizhou Provincial Statistics Bureau and the statistical departments of various prefectures, cities, and counties by the end of 1990. To ensure the relative accuracy of the data on natural resources, the resource section primarily draws on specialized statistical data from relevant departments. This book is a specialized work on the study of natural resources in Guizhou, combining academic rigor and practical applicability. Therefore, in the compilation process, every effort was made to balance theory and practice, current status and evaluation and prospects. The layout and writing style were designed to be fresh and lively, making the book suitable for a broad readership.
