Features: "A New Theory of Evidence" is a national social science fund project approved in June 1999. After nearly three years of research, it has now been completed, forming the book titled A New Theory of Evidence, which consists of 13 chapters. It embodies my nearly 20 years of research in the field of evidence. These topics reflect the issues raised by scholars and practical departments in China and even other countries regarding evidence, most of which are cutting-edge and realistic. I have put forward my own views and insights on these issues, some of which are still in the exploratory stage, merely and analysis, awaiting further discussion. However, I believe that this research should be beneficial to the theory and practice of evidence. It should also be specially noted that the writing process of this book: I co-authored Chapter 9 with graduate student Chen Guo. Chapter 10 was written by my graduate students Peng Haiqing, Ning Song, and Wang Zhihua under my leadership. Additionally, Section 3 of Chapter 7 was co-authored by myself and Peng Haiqing. I am grateful for this. In short, the completion of a work is never the result of pure personal effort; it embodies the hard work of predecessors, peers, and younger colleagues. For this, I extend my sincere gratitude to all colleagues, friends, and family who haveed and supported me.
