Features: The book "Insurance Studies" written by Professor Yuan Zongwei has been widely adopted as a classic textbook for insurance programs in universities and colleges across Taiwan and Southeast Asia for many years. Since its publication in 1957, it has been revised 34 times. The enduring popularity and repeated reprints of Professor Yuan Zongwei's work can be attributed to three significant characteristics compared to general insurance textbooks: systematicity, practicality, and readability. Although the development of the insurance industry in mainland China and Taiwan has followed different trajectories, there is considerable complementarity and mutual learning between the two regions. Due to a period of stagnation in mainland China's insurance industry, there is still a need for continuous exploration and improvement in theory and practice. Professor Yuan Zongwei's book not only provides mainland readers with a learning resource to understand the theories and practices of insurance in Taiwan and the world but also serves as an important reference for compiling insurance textbooks in mainland China. The book now consists of seven parts and twenty-six chapters. The first four parts focus on explaining the fundamental principles of risk and insurance, while the last three parts elaborate on the interrelationships between enterprises, households, and society in terms of risk and insurance business, aiming to integrate theory and practice.
