Zhang Ning (Literary Critic) Lu Jiangliang's novels, through his unique narrative style and story structure, place the information, stories, destinies of farmers, and various spiritual secrets of contemporary rural life at the forefront of readers' attention.
Zhu Qigen (Young Poet) In the dozens of short stories he has completed, Lu Jiangliang consistently uses his extraordinary insight and solid linguistic sensitivity and writing prowess to sincerely reveal the objective life of the social underclass and the true struggles of its characters, further demonstrating the determination of literary youth to critique contemporary social life.
Ding Lei (Chinese Department Student) The stories in his novels are easy to read, with characters who are almost simple, rustic, and slightly foolish lower-class farmers who have just left the countryside. The plots are moving and intricate, with emotions rich yet restrained in their critique.
Mingyue Gongchaosheng (University Teacher) The language style of his novels is not sharp or challenging, but precisely tragic, like a sharp sword piercing a certain foolish and simplistic mindset of the common people.
Wu Yangzhong (Freelance Writer) In recent years, it is rare to see a novelist so accurately portray the spiritual hesitation and behavioral indecisiveness and absurdity of such groups in need of pity and compassion.
The short story collection The Little Dog's Bicycle was completed by the author based on the writing principles of "writing alone with conscience, focusing on human nature, fate, and the social underclass," and the belief of "going into the darkness." The portrayal of the survival state and fate of the lower-class rural farmers is like a series of vivid and realistic short scenes, revealing a precious concern for reality.
What is even rarer is that the stories in the collection are highly readable, with moving and intricate plots, rich yet restrained emotions, fully demonstrating the aesthetic beauty and techniques of the novel.
