How is submucosal uterine fibroid treated

Patient's question:

After six months of cesarean section, the first ultrasound examination showed the uterus in an anterior position with a low-echo mass of about 2014MM in the uterine cavity. How is submucosal uterine fibroid treated?

Doctor's answer:

If submucosal fibroids are small and cause no symptoms, medication can be used for treatment. If symptoms occur and medication is not effective, minimally invasive or surgical treatment should be considered. If the patient is older, symptoms are mild, and she is near menopause, expectant therapy can be considered, as fibroids naturally shrink after menopause. If the fibroids are large and cause symptoms leading to anemia, hysteroscopic or laparoscopic surgical treatment can be used. The surgical procedure is less painful, with smaller incisions, and does not cause pelvic adhesions. The patient can be discharged within 48 hours. For more severe submucosal fibroids, hysterectomy may be considered.
