To this end, the authors of this book have carefully studied the National Unified Examination Syllabus for English Proficiency for, and have referred to numerous relevant materials to compile ten sets of mock tests. These ten sets of mock tests cover the main points of the exam over the years. For each question, the book not only provides reference answers but also provides detailed explanations for common language problems that candidates are prone to make mistakes. At the same time, to facilitate candidates' self-study, this book also provides Chinese translations of key words and sentences. To help readers better use this book, we have put forward the following suggestions for candidates based on the characteristics of the exam questions:
1. Regarding listening comprehension, candidates must listen to two or three passages before referring to the audio script. During the listening process, there is no need to demand that you understand every word; instead, focus on grasping the main idea. Otherwise, you may be like being blinded by the leaves and not seeing the forest. Therefore, during listening, consciously cultivate the ability to grasp the main idea.
2. Pay special attention to idiomatic expressions and fixed collocations in the vocabulary section. Master the various meanings of common prepositions and adverbs. With this foundation, the application of fixed collocations can be achieved with ease.
3. In the reading comprehension section, candidates must firmly remember that every question is related to the content of the passage. Do not make subjective assumptions or guesses based on your own prior knowledge. During practice, ensure that every question can be answered based on the passage, otherwise, you may find that you understand the passage but answer the questions incorrectly.
4. The comprehensive fill-in-the-blank section tests candidates' vocabulary, grammar knowledge, and reading comprehension skills. Before starting, read the entire passage to grasp the main idea. After completing the questions, review the entire passage to ensure accuracy. Sometimes, a single sentence in a unit may seem correct, but in the context of the passage, it may not be the right answer.
5. The error identification and correction section is often a in candidates' minds. Although this section is challenging, once the rules are mastered, it can be handled with ease. Mastering these rules requires extensive practice; without a certain amount of practice, it is impossible to achieve the desired results. In addition to the exercises in this book, candidates can also start with similar exercises from the TOEFL exam.
6. The Chinese-to-English translation section is also a, but once you understand that English sentences are generally "head-heavy and tail-light," it will not seem so difficult. During practice, simplify the Chinese sentence, identify the main components, write down the basic subject-verb structure, and then add modifiers and adverbial phrases. With practice, proficiency will come naturally.
7. Regarding the writing section, candidates should read more model essays regularly. During the exam, strive to have a clear theme, sufficient arguments, clear handwriting, and concise narration.
