Features: This book is divided into ten parts and ten appendices, which are described as follows:
Part 1: Introduction to Statistical Process Control (SPC) Implementation
This part focuses on the supplier's introduction requirements and implementation methods.
Part 2: The Nature of Variation
This part primarily explains how to use simple statistical methods to grasp the variation of the process system, detect the causes of process system variation using control charts, and enable readers to correctly understand the process system.
Part 3: Basic Statistics
This part defines general statistics based on the data structure of actual process systems, using dynamic data from different times, batches, or samples. Common statistics include the mean, median, standard deviation, range for measurement values, and defect count, defect rate, good rate, defect number, and unit defect number for attribute values, to measure the variation of the process system.
Part 4: Principles of Control Charts
The design principle of control charts is to apply dynamic data from the process system, select appropriate statistics, and use simple run charts to interpret the degree of variation between samples, batches, or time periods.
Part 5: Introduction to Measurement Value Control Charts
This part explains how to reasonably group measurement value control charts to ensure that within-group variation at the same time only contains common causes.
Part 6: Attribute Value Control Charts
Attribute value control charts are generally used to monitor the quality variation between production batches or inspection batches of the process system. Reasonable grouping is essential, where one batch should be a group, excessively large batches should be split appropriately, and small batches should be combined.
Part 7: Measurement System Analysis
This part introduces the importance of studying the measurement system used in process control systems, in addition to effective management of instruments and equipment.
Part 8: Process Capability Studies
This part explains how to determine different methods for studying key products, process characteristics, short-term, and long-term process capability. Short-term process capability studies focus on stages such as new product and process trials, initial production, engineering changes, and process equipment modifications, while long-term studies primarily focus on mass production.
Part 9: 6σ Improvement Activities
After Motorola successfully implemented 6σ and gained significant business benefits, large companies such as AlliedSignal, GE, Sony, TI, and Polaroid actively adopted it.
Part 10: Simple Experimental Design
This part introduces orthogonal experimental design using standardized orthogonal tables, enhancing the feasibility of experimental design in industry.
