The Academic Spirit of Chinese Traditional Culture
The academic spirit of Chinese traditional culture, as the core of methodology, is determined by the disciplinary positioning and ideological system of Chinese traditional culture. It is mainly reflected in four aspects: academic principles, academic realm, academic level, and academic basic skills. Regarding Academic Principles. This issue refers to dialectical analysis around the value-centered system. The academic principles of Chinese traditional culture are the fundamental attitude towards traditional Chinese culture and the basic starting point of academic research. Without clear academic principles, nothing else can be discussed. With social changes, academic principles must also undergo a process of transformation, mainly through three major transformations: the first is the modern transformation, with the modern transformation of Chinese society, the theories of "Chinese body and Western use" and "comprehensive Westernization" emerged, as well as the cultural debates of the 1930s; the second is the contemporary transformation, during the process of social change to achieve modernization, the "cultural fever" of the 1980s appeared. In the issue of academic principles of Chinese traditional culture, there also emerged theories such as "Confucian revival," "comprehensive Westernization," and "anti-tradition," while also the correct comprehensive innovation theory representing the mainstream of academia. Currently, we are facing the third transformation, which is the transformation of the 21st century. Although it also includes the content of the contemporary transformation, it has new characteristics. With the entry into the 21st century, society will undergo new changes. Against the backdrop of economic globalization, in the trend of the integration of diverse cultures in the world, in future reflections on the relationship between humans and nature, and under the strong impact of foreign cultures, how will the value orientation of traditional Chinese culture be? How will the cultural values of the Chinese nation be positioned? This is an important transformation. In terms of academic principles, it is necessary to conduct dialectical analysis around the value-centered system. The value-centered system refers to the basic value orientation of traditional Chinese culture. As the dominant value concept, it makes choices and judgments about core values. Based on these choices and judgments, whether it is the spiritual source of national cohesion or the cultural connotation of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, answers can be found in traditional Chinese culture. This value-centered system does not fade with the passage of time or waver with the changes of the times. It is a value system that operates at a deep cultural level. As long as we focus on this central system, not only can the millennia-long process of the Chinese nation's self-improvement and civilization be explained, but also insights can be gained into the future development trend of the Chinese nation in the world. At the same time as focusing on the value-centered system, dialectical analysis must be carried out. Traditional Chinese culture is, after all, a past culture, and value choices for the present and future must be analyzed dialectically. We know that the rich cultural philosophy of ancient Greece and Rome was adapted to their typical slave system, and the developed cultural philosophy of modern Europe was adapted to its typical capitalist system. Each of them had typicality in different social formations. Traditional Chinese culture mainly developed within the feudal society of China, and its rich and long history is adapted to the typical feudal system in Chinese history. In China's long feudal society, the feudal system developed quite fully and perfectly, with typicality, and traditional Chinese culture, in turn, had typicality in adaptation to it.
