This, on one hand, indicates the difficulty of aesthetic work itself—so-called "the tree of life is always green, while theory is always poor"—and on other hand, it shows that aesthetic work is greatly influenced by external factors, which inevitably limits the breadth and depth of understanding. However, inheriting and promoting the humanistic spirit of the new era is the lifelong goal for which we aesthetic workers strive. I believe that as long as we have sincerely and diligently worked toward this goal, as long as we have added even a drop of water to the long river of aesthetic development, we should feel contented. Whether we leave behind much or little ultimately does not matter.
