Do you need surgery for general ovarian cysts?

Patient's question:

Four came on her period, with a cycle of over thirty days. On the first day of this month, she had sex with her husband, and until now, she hasn't had her period. A pregnancy test showed she wasn't pregnant. Could it be an ectopic pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

The most common symptoms of ectopic pregnancy in the early stage are as follows:
1. Abdominal pain: Lower abdominal dull pain, a sense of needing to defecate, sometimes severe pain, accompanied by profuse cold sweat. During rupture, patients suddenly feel sharp, tearing-like pain on one side of the lower abdomen, often accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
2. Amenorrhea: Before tubal pregnancy miscarriage or rupture, symptoms and signs are not obvious. Except for short-term amenorrhea and early pregnancy manifestations, sometimes there may be unilateral lower abdominal fullness and pain. Careful examination may reveal normal fallopian tubes or swelling.
3. Vaginal bleeding: Usually involves a very small amount of bleeding.
4. Fainting and shock: Due to acute intra-abdominal bleeding, it may lead to increased blood volume and severe abdominal pain. Mild cases often cause fainting, while severe cases may result in shock.
5. Other symptoms: Nausea may occur.
