Patient's question:
I had laparoscopic left ovarian cystectomy and right fallopian tube mesosalpinx cyst excision last July. Will this affect fertility?Doctor's answer:
Laparoscopic uterine fibroid exclusion is suitable for patients who wish to preserve fertility, subserosal uterine fibroids with a diameter of less than 6 cm, intramural uterine fibroids that affect pregnancy or cause habitual abortion, and fibroids that rapidly increase in size within a short period. The contraindications for the surgery include multiple intramural fibroids, an enlarged uterus greater than 4 months of pregnancy, or deep intramural fibroids that protrude into the uterine cavity, such as broad ligament fibroids with a diameter greater than 10 cm. Patients with existing adenomyosis or malignancy are not suitable for laparoscopic fibroid resection.
