Features: Polish Grammar is a foundational textbook for Polish language majors at the undergraduate level, designed for first and second-year university students. The book aims to provide Chinese learners of Polish with a systematic study of basic Polish grammar, enabling them to grasp a relatively complete understanding of the structure and fundamental rules of Polish grammar, thereby allowing them to correctly comprehend and apply the language material learned. To this end, the authors have presented a relatively systematic introduction to modern Polish grammar. The book is also suitable for advanced students and self-learners. Polish Grammar is divided into three parts in terms of structure: Phonetics, Grammar, and Syntax. The phonetics section briefly introduces the phonemes and letters of Polish, including pronunciation and orthography. The morphology section provides a detailed explanation of the inflectional changes of Polish nouns, adjectives, numerals, pronouns, and verbs. In the noun chapter, special cases of nouns are included in each section, while the verb chapter features irregular verbs. Word formation is classified under morphology and is presented after the relevant word classes. In the syntax section, the authors employ traditional sentence analysis methods to explain simple and compound sentences, analyzing the components of sentences and their structural relationships. The example sentences used fully take into account the characteristics of modern Polish. At the end of the book, a Polish-Chinese grammar terminology is provided for reference.
