Patient's question:
Had a tubal hydrops obstruction surgery on Sunday, had intercourse today, and started breastfeeding. Is Sunday good at surgery?Doctor's answer:
Today is Wednesday, and we had intercourse. On Sunday, I plan to have a tubal hydrosalpinx drainage surgery. Generally, intercourse should be avoided for 3 days before surgery. If you used condoms during intercourse while breastfeeding, you should still be able to have the surgery. Tubal patency tests are usually performed 3 to 7 days after the menstrual period ends. Sexual activity is strictly prohibited for 3 days before surgery. If you have vaginal inflammation or endometritis, tubal irrigation and examination are strictly prohibited. A body temperature above 37.5°C also disqualifies you from tubal irrigation and examination. For two weeks after surgery, sexual activity and bubble baths are strictly prohibited. Antibiotics may be administered to prevent infection as needed.
