Features: Point-supported glass curtain walls have the characteristics of simple construction and good transparency, meeting people's needs to return to nature and enjoy sunlight. Therefore, although point-supported curtain walls have not been widely used in China for a long time, their development has been quite rapid. In 2001, the installed area exceeded 500,000 square meters, and in 2002, it reached around 700,000 square meters, with some projects using as much as 100,000 square meters. Point-supported glass curtain walls have developed into a unique family of building curtain wall systems. Not only do traditional glass point-supported glass curtain walls, single beam point-supported glass curtain walls, and truss point-supported glass curtain walls continue to evolve, but the development of rod point-supported glass curtain walls and self-balancing rod point-supported glass curtain walls has been even more remarkable. At the same time, the application scope of point-supported glass curtain walls has expanded to areas where other curtain wall technologies cannot achieve ideal results. Point-supported glass structures have also been extended to fields such as staircases and railings, and the combination of point-supported glass structures with tensioned membranes has created a new architectural form.

To better summarize experience and promote technical exchange in point-supported glass curtain wall technology, invitations were extended to domestic curtain wall experts to investigate, research, and summarize point-supported glass curtain walls both domestically and internationally. Based on this, the "Point-Supported Glass Curtain Wall Construction Atlas" was compiled to serve as a reference for engineering technology personnel in curtain wall enterprises, design institutes, and supervision departments.
