Features: The "Legal Thought" section of this book primarily reflects on the winding journey of China's rule of law over the 50 years since the founding of the country and looks ahead to the development trends of the rule of law in the new century. The second part, "Legal Power", mainly presents recent reflections on the omnipresence of power, the privatization of power, and the alienation phenomena of power corruption. It particularly focuses on the new developments in the structure and configuration of power within modern states and in the international community, the evolving trends of power diversification and socialization, and attempts to broaden the research horizons of this foundational concept. It also expands the definition of power, introducing new concepts such as a "traditional new concept" and the "proposition of social power balancing state power," as well as terms like "supranational power" and "international community power." The third part, "Rule of Law," presents a more systematic discussion of rule of law issues compared to the previous two books. Notably, the article "Rule of Law for Officials" is fully reprinted in Xinhua Zhaihua and has become a hot topic of concern for both the legal community and the general public. The fourth part, "Legal Commentary," addresses issues and cases in legal theory and the practice of the rule of law, offering brief critiques. These short essays were mostly written in response to invitations from newspapers and magazines or as conference presentations. However, they aim to expose societal flaws and present broader insights, making them worth reviewing.
