Features: Since 1978, China's modern tourism industry has followed the path of reform and opening-up, achieving remarkable success and ushering in the 21st century. Tourism has become an important part of the lifestyle of contemporary Chinese people, and the tourism industry has also become a new growth point for the national economy. At the beginning of the new century, in January 2000, the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) reviewed the development of the tourism industry and its basic experiences over the past two decades at the National Tourism Work Conference and officially proposed the goal of "building China into a world tourism power by 2020." With the arrival of the 21st century and China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Ministry of Education conducted a systematic adjustment of the professional catalog. In teaching and research practices, universities and colleges at all levels and types have put forward new requirements for tourism psychology. The content of tourism psychology must reflect the spirit of the new era and the industrial status while minimizing conflicts with other professional courses, especially those related to management. To meet these new demands, we began the writing of this book. The main feature of this book is that its basic content is limited to the psychology and behavior of tourists, with a focus on targeted services for tourism practitioners throughout. The intended audience for this book primarily includes undergraduate and associate degree students in tourism management, as well as tourism industry practitioners and researchers, who may find it a valuable reference. Additionally, this book can also serve as a textbook or reference for self-study exams and in-service training in the tourism industry.
