After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Ba Jin devoted himself to anti-Japanese cultural activities in various regions, editing publications like 《》 and 《》, and writing sequels to 《》 titled 《》 and 《》, as well as the long novel 《》 (also titled 《》). After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Ba Jin held positions such as Vice President of the National Federation of Literature and Arts, President of the Chinese Writers' Association, President of the Chinese PEN Center, and Vice President of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He also served as the editor-in-chief of 《》 magazine. He actively supported and participated in activities aimed at flourishing literary creation, attended international literary exchanges abroad multiple times, and was the first to propose the establishment of the Modern Chinese Literature Museum.
