Features: Yang Renkai: Born in Yanchi, Sichuan in October 1915, styled Yimin, and pen name Yimu. In 1934, he became a teacher at Chengdu Qunjue Women's High School. Later, he served as a proofreader at Chengdu Qijing Printing Factory, an associate manager at Chongqing Deguang Publishing House, and an advisor to the Shuwen Monthly Publishing House. In 1941, he taught at Chongqing Private Jingye Senior Commercial School. In 1945, he worked as a technical expert in the Beijing Municipal Government. Since 1950, he was transferred to the Cultural Relics Department of Northeast Cultural Department as a researcher, and in 1952, he became a researcher at Northeast Museum. He held positions such as Deputy Director and Honorary Director of Liaoning Provincial Museum, and was a member of the China Artists Association and the China Calligraphers Association. A renowned expert in the appraisal of paintings and calligraphy, he joined the national painting and calligraphy appraisal group in 1983, appraising ancient paintings and calligraphy held by museums across the country. His works include Research on the Tang Dynasty Brocade-Edged Court Lady Painting (People's Fine Arts Publishing House), Examination of Paintings from the Yematai Liao Tomb (Cultural Relics Publishing House), and others. Most of his articles on painting and calligraphy appraisal are collected in works such as Drafts of Paintings and Calligraphy from Muyu Tower (Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House), Yang Renkai's Collection of Painting and Calligraphy Appraisal (Henan Fine Arts Publishing House), and Collected Works from Muyu Tower (Liaoning People's Publishing House).
