Features: The foundation of art education reflects students' observation and modeling abilities, integrating their expressive and imaginative skills. Many art colleges use it as a standard for admissions. However, art education is often neglected in many primary and secondary schools, treated merely as art appreciation while ignoring the cultivation of painting skills. This leads to low foundational painting abilities among many students in these schools. Every year, a large number of candidates with poor art foundation attend pre-examination training programs, hoping to meet the requirements through quick training methods. Finding an efficient learning approach is a question worth exploring for art educators. Therefore, based on this current situation, we have summarized the characteristics of past exams, analyzed candidates' abilities, and developed a self-training model suitable for beginners, enabling them to achieve exam goals in a short period. The editing features of this series optimize the relationship between art foundation teaching and art college entrance exams over the years, targeting the requirements of annual college entrance exams to provide beginners and candidates with a quick self-training model, helping them reach a certain level of modeling proficiency in a short time. The materials selected for this series are works by renowned teachers with years of art education experience. As a new teaching method, we believe it will be widely accepted by readers and resonate with the art education community.
Portraiture sketching is one of the key courses in foundational modeling training. In real life, human figures are vivid and diverse, with rich expressions and personalities. Through portraiture sketching, beginners can study and understand the anatomical and structural composition of human heads, grasp the perspective changes at different angles and positions, and recognize the proportional differences in figure modeling. They can also familiarize themselves with the unique textures of real human portraits and the variations in tonal contrasts under different lighting conditions, thereby capturing the external features, personality traits, and specific expressions of different individuals. Additionally, through portraiture sketching, beginners can develop their observational, perceptual, and interpretive abilities toward figures, improve their painting skills, and lay a solid foundation for creating vivid and emotionally resonant artistic images.
Starting from the challenges faced by candidates in annual art college entrance exams, the author of this book has studied and summarized common issues encountered by candidates. Addressing these problems systematically, from simple to complex, the book provides a detailed and comprehensive explanation of how to conduct effective self-training before the exam. This enables candidates to quickly master the fundamental principles and techniques of sketching still life in a relatively short time, thereby enhancing their abilities in art exams.
