Practical Acupuncture Experience Prescription Handbook

Author: Yang Yuande
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2003-03-01
Features: This book was gradually refined and revised over 15 years based on teaching materials originally prepared for a Hungarian doctoral student sent by the National Health Ministry to teach at our institution. It introduces fundamental theories (meridians), basic knowledge (acupoints), and basic skills (needling techniques) related to acupuncture prescriptions. The diseases mentioned throughout the book primarily use modern medical disease names to align with international standards and facilitate clinical reference. For the 43 conditions advocated by the World Health Organization (WHO) for acupuncture treatment in 1979 and the 64 acupuncture indications approved at the Milan meeting in Italy in November 1996, effective acupuncture prescriptions are listed one by one. Additionally, the principles of acupuncture prescriptions are emphasized, along with prescriptions for common and difficult diseases, each providing 3 to 5 sets of prescriptions for filiform needles or more. These include inherited and the author's own empirical prescriptions. The operation techniques used are clearly marked, and effective other acupuncture methods are also provided with prescriptions and operation methods to ensure convenience and clarity for readers, practitioners, scholars, and researchers in clinical applications. Through decades of clinical treatment experience in China and abroad, the author reflects on the flexibility of their father's selection of acupoints and prescriptions when treating patients. They deeply believe that effective treatment requires mastering multiple sets of prescriptions, accumulating a wealth of knowledge, and being able to handle patients with ease in clinical practice. Combined with proficient needling techniques, this ensures accurate results. This book is suitable for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), integrated Chinese and Western medicine, acupuncture clinical practitioners, as well as acupuncture researchers and students/staff of TCM and acupuncture colleges/university departments. It is also suitable for overseas personnel and foreign trainees.
