Features: Materials, as one of the three pillars of world economic development along with energy and information, have gained increasing attention. The various materials used in the mechanical industry (and other industries) can be primarily classified into three categories based on their applications: structural materials, functional materials, and process and auxiliary materials; they can also be divided into three categories based on their chemical composition: metallic materials, organic polymer materials, and inorganic non-metallic materials. Regardless of the classification, to use these materials reasonably and effectively and to fully utilize their potential, it is necessary to understand and master some or certain properties (including composition, microstructure) of them. To achieve this goal, material testing must be relied upon. This manual is named "Mechanical Engineering Materials Testing Manual" in accordance with its original intent. In fact, the vast majority of materials used in the mechanical industry are also applied in other scientific, technological, and industrial fields, and many testing methods also share commonalities. Therefore, this book also holds certain reference value for personnel working in industries outside the mechanical engineering field.
