Features: Gu Zhinong was born in Hangzhou in 1970. He graduated from the Affiliated High School of the China Academy of Art in 1990 and from the Oil Painting Department of the China Academy of Art in 1994. He began teaching at the Hangzhou Normal University Fine Arts College in 1994. His works include "Classmates," which was selected for the 1994 Provincial Fine Arts Exhibition and won an excellence award; "Basketball Shot," which was selected for the 1993 National Moral Education Fine Arts Exhibition; "Still Life," which was selected for the Provincial Fine Arts Association Oil Painting Exhibition; and "Land," which was selected for the th China-Japan People and Nature Fine Arts Exhibition. His work "Traces" won the gold medal at the 11th Zhejiang Provincial Fine Arts Exhibition and participated in the 10th National Fine Arts Exhibition. He has published over 20 books, including "Sketching," "Figure Sketching," "Real Head Portraits," "Composed Still Life Sketching," "Single Still Life Sketching," "Figure Sketching," "Geometric Forms," "Plaster Busts," "Plaster Head Portraits," "Single Watercolor Still Life," "Composed Watercolor Still Life," "Real Head Portraits," "Still Life Sketching," and "Plaster Head Portraits."
