Features: This book is based on the materials from the Guangzhou Pathology Slide Reading Club from 1978 to 1998 over a span of 20 years, supplemented by difficult or rare cases from the authors' respective institutions. It selects and compiles over 500 cases of challenging pathology for the broader pathology community. Most of the cases collected are atypical presentations of certain diseases or rare or even uncommon diseases of specific organ systems. Many of these cases are newly recognized diseases, such as angioinvasive large-cell lymphoma, Hodgkin-like anaplastic large-cell lymphoma, and borderline vascular endothelial tumors. We base our diagnoses on HE morphology, identifying subtle clues of typical lesions amidst the diverse atypical changes, and employ special stains, immunohistochemistry, and electron microscopy to aid in differentiation. Correct diagnoses are made through discussions during the slide reading sessions. On this foundation, we organized experienced middle-aged and elderly pathologists from the Guangzhou region who participated in the slide reading sessions to contribute to the writing of Selected Cases in Difficult Pathology Diagnosis. Each case in the book is accompanied by color illustrations, detailed pathological morphology descriptions, diagnostic key points, and differential diagnoses, along with brief discussions based on recent literature. Studying these materials can help pathologists broaden their perspectives and accumulate experience.
