What are the causes of ectopic pregnancy?

Patient's question:

I have been pregnant for more than four months. The doctor said this is an ectopic pregnancy. I just want to ask, what exactly causes ectopic pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

At four and a half months pregnant, if the test result shows an ectopic pregnancy, it is actually not accurate. Because at around 2 to 3 months, it can usually be clearly determined that by the fourth month, an ectopic pregnancy is highly likely to rupture, with blood in the abdomen or a high possibility of shock. So, in this current situation, it is relatively uncommon. Ectopic pregnancy is mainly caused by poor quality of the fertilized egg or a poor uterine environment in women, apart from the possibility of fallopian tube stenosis.
