In contrast, Zhou Zhimian adopted a more rational approach, learning from Lu Zhi and Chen Daofu, and created the "Hooked Flower and Dotted Leaf Method," demonstrating remarkable skill. At this time, the Wu (Wumen) School was gradually declining, while the Huating (Huating) School was emerging. Song Xu, with his vigorous and archaic style, and Mo Shilong, with his elegant and refreshing brushwork, displayed their individual talents. Xiang Yuanbian, a collector of ancient paintings and calligraphy, matured his artistic skills through exposure to classical works, gaining a refined sense of artistry. Wu Bin, who did not emphasize imitation of the past but instead forged his own path, gave his brushwork a unique landscape-like charm through his personal life experiences. In the field of figure painting, Ding Yunpeng excelled in all painting genres, particularly figures, with an elegant and refined style.
