Features: This is a small book intended for a broader readership, discussing the culture of Chinese alcohol. Alcohol demands life freedom, wildness, and artistry; the West calls this "the divine nature of alcohol." The general trend is like this, and it is also reflected in the specific individuals. Chinese people are directly or indirectly, consciously or unconsciously, influenced by the cultures of Confucianism and Taoism, and their attitude toward alcohol reflects their attitude toward these two cultures, whether consciously or unconsciously. What can be confidently said is that this is not a book that encourages people to drink excessively, nor is it a Puritanical book that advises people to flee from alcohol at the sight of it.
Author's Self-Description: Of course, things are different then and now, in this aspect and others, influenced by external forces or internal drives, arising from various causes, manifesting in countless ways, intricate and winding, even to the point of being unfathomable. These issues are not within the scope of this book. This small pamphlet mostly provides tangible phenomena, what is called modest and unpretentious views.
