A small old man, whose name is Ba Jin

Author: Gu Wei

Publish Date: 2003-11-01
Features: The editorial intent of this book is actually quite simple. The author merely organizes the content into several sections. Each section is essentially a "year-by-year" record. From Ba Jin in 1982 to Ba Jin in 1987, one can roughly see the thoughts, work, and life of the elderly over these years. The second section mostly focuses on the side aspects of Ba Jin's daily life, perhaps allowing readers to gain a more multi-faceted understanding of the "person and their deeds." The final section is similar in content to the second, so it was separated for consideration that it might make reading feel lighter. The third section mostly consists of accounts of Ba Jin's interactions with the international literary world and friends at home and abroad. Most of these are based on the author's firsthand observations and preserve some contemporary materials, which some consider to be "firsthand records."
