Features: The characteristics of this book are: Simple—Easy methods; Convenient—Easy to source materials; Inexpensive—Not costly; Effective—Proven to be effective. This book includes nearly 200 common and frequently-occurring prescriptions for internal, external, dermatological, gynecological, pediatric, ophthalmological, otolaryngological, and comprehensive medical conditions. The content is divided into two parts: Overview and Selected Prescriptions. The Overview section introduces the basic concepts of the diseases and, in some cases, also explains the TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment principles. The Selected Prescriptions section is further divided into oral and external applications. Oral prescriptions include medicinal diets, medicinal wines, and medicinal teas, while external prescriptions include topical applications, picking treatments, thumb vertical pressure, and physical exercises. When using these prescriptions, both oral and external applications can be chosen simultaneously to enhance the therapeutic effect. The dosages of the listed medications are all measured in grams. Generally, the ingredients can be purchased from Chinese herbal medicine stores, specialty food stores, or markets. The specific techniques for picking treatments and pressure therapy are explained in detail at the end of the book. The locations of the acupoints and special pressure points are illustrated in the appendices. It should be noted that due to the variability of symptoms, the same prescription may not be suitable for all patients with the same condition.
