Features: CAID in China has been developing for some time and has gained significant attention and widespread application in many enterprises and design institutions. This can be clearly seen in the requirements that companies place on the qualities of industrial design students. However, overall, the current CAID in numerous enterprises, students, and even some educational institutions' training programs consists of far more computer-aided drafting than computer-aided design. This phenomenon has many historical roots, but it does little to help CAID fulfill its fundamental purpose: improving design quality and efficiency. If the notion that completing a rendering is equivalent to completing a product design is not corrected in time, the value of industrial design cannot be fully realized. In today's emphasis on concurrent design and agile manufacturing, this traditional, inefficient, and self-satisfying design concept will no longer have a suitable place to survive. This book focuses on a systematic explanation of CAID, with an emphasis on 3D modeling of design proposals, design expression, and the interface and conversion between styling design data and engineering design data, rather than merely treating CAID technology as a means of design expression. This approach aims to highlight the more important standards and principles of CAID hidden behind the design, thereby helping industrial designers establish a systematic concept of CAID.
