Patient's question:
What groups of people have a higher risk of ectopic pregnancy? How long does it take to detect ectopic pregnancy? Can a urine test detect ectopic pregnancy?Doctor's answer:
If there is chronic tubal inflammation, the risk of a recurrent ectopic pregnancy is relatively high. The time at which ectopic pregnancy can be detected varies from person to person. If there is bleeding after pregnancy, some blood tests may be conducted, and hCG levels may not double well, with overall values rarely being below 1000. Then an ultrasound is performed, and the gestational sac is consistently not visible within the uterine cavity. In this case, ectopic pregnancy is highly suspected. If the implantation site of the gestational sac has already been observed, or there is significant bleeding in the abdomen, immediate surgery is required.
