Patient's question:
I've been married to my husband for almost eight years, and we've never had any children. My mother-in-law has been urging us to have grandchildren. Recently, out of desperation, my husband and I underwent a thorough examination. The results showed that I have tubal infertility. I'm very worried and want to know if it's possible to treat tubal infertility?Doctor's answer:
Tubal infertility is caused by adhesions resulting from tubal inflammation. Women typically have two fallopian tubes, one on each side, and usually release one egg per month, though most are unaware of which side it comes from. If you have a unilateral tubal blockage, your chances of pregnancy are 50%. If both tubes are blocked, the chances of pregnancy are 0%. Therefore, treatment is necessary. Currently, tubal hydrotubation can treat tubal adhesions, but the effectiveness is not 100% and requires follow-up testing.
