Features: Based on the "Outline for the Reform of Basic Education Curriculum" and "Curriculum Standards" formulated by the Ministry of Education, as well as the practical needs of college entrance examinations, we have meticulously organized the writing of the "Huanggang Essentials and Problem Solutions" series by renowned teachers from Huanggang. This series includes six volumes: "Junior High School Mathematics," "Junior High School Physics," "Junior High School Chemistry," "Senior High School Mathematics," "Senior High School Physics," and "Senior High School Chemistry." Each volume is organized by units, with two sections under each unit: [Key Knowledge Points] and [Selected Problem Solutions].
[Key Knowledge Points]: Based on the "Curriculum Standards" and referencing multiple experimental textbooks, this section presents the foundational knowledge and basic principles necessary to establish the structure of academic knowledge. It serves as the "main framework that ensures the expansion of knowledge," forming the basis for teaching that must be thoroughly understood while independently radiating numerous results. The section explores the connotation and extension of each key point.
[Selected Problem Solutions]: Based on the "Curriculum Standards," this section includes "Basic Problems, Exploratory Problems, Open-ended Problems, Design Problems, Applied Problems, and Comprehensive Problems." The analysis of selected problems reveals the characteristics, functions, thought processes, and problem-solving methods and patterns.
- Basic Problems: These reinforce foundational knowledge and basic principles, serving to test core concepts. As the saying goes, "The heart of thinking must reside in the body of knowledge," and students develop abilities through the process of mastering knowledge. Therefore, basic problems must be included in all teaching assessments.
- Exploratory Problems: The "Curriculum Standards" emphasize inquiry-based learning as a key component of the new curriculum, allowing students to experience a process similar to that of scientific researchers. These problems can serve as learning objectives and methods, aiming to cultivate students' inquiry skills. Focusing on scientific inquiry is a sub-project of this curriculum reform, requiring research-oriented teachers to engage in creative work. In this sub-project, the authors of this series have painstakingly designed various forms of exploratory problems. Notably, three distinctive forms are:
1. Changing perspectives to test basic inquiry processes and methods.
2. Using exploratory problems to test the side branches and extensions of core knowledge.
3. Quantitative exploration of qualitative patterns.
- Open-ended Problems: The "Curriculum Standards" emphasize the "developmental nature of curriculum resources." Since the curriculum itself is open, open-ended problems have emerged. These problems are beneficial for testing divergent thinking and knowledge networks.
- Design Problems: The "Curriculum Standards" emphasize cultivating students' "innovation spirit." Competition requires innovation, and innovation is the soul of humanity. Design problems are effective for testing innovation and design skills.
- Applied Problems: The "Curriculum Standards" emphasize "the application of knowledge." The purpose of learning is application. Applied problems are useful for testing the ability to solve practical problems.
- Comprehensive Problems: The "Curriculum Standards" emphasize "comprehensiveness." Scientific collectivity and economic integration require well-rounded talent. Comprehensive problems are effective for testing overall ability.
In summary, this series accurately grasps the essence of the "Curriculum Standards" in terms of knowledge content and teaching assessment direction, offering high practical value. It can serve as both a teaching reference (for teachers to conduct "unit assessments, mid-term and final assessments, and comprehensive review assessments") and a learning reference (for students to conduct "unit reviews, mid-term and final reviews, and preparation for comprehensive reviews").
