Features: The natural world has a variety of colors, which are extremely familiar to everyone. However, why objects have colors and how to measure the colors of objects have been topics of great interest in recent decades. The measurement of color is an emerging science that involves disciplines such as physical optics, visual psychology, and psychophysics. It has broad applications in fields like textile dyeing and printing, clothing, coatings, dyes, plastics, papermaking, photography, transportation, light sources, and remote sensing. Although China started relatively late in research and application of color measurement and computer color matching, it has developed extremely rapidly in recent years, especially in the textile and dyeing industry. Across the country, a considerable number of color measurement and matching equipment have been introduced and manufactured. It is believed that color measurement and matching technology will be widely applied in the textile and dyeing industry in the future. The content of this book focuses primarily on the application of color measurement in the textile and dyeing industry. In addition to briefly explaining the basic theories, it also pays attention to the practical applications. Examples from the textile and dyeing industry are included in each chapter to assist readers in reference. This book has been carefully reviewed by Professor Yao Mu of Northwest Textile University, and special thanks are hereby expressed.
