Features: This anthology has the following important characteristics. First, it demonstrates a comprehensive inclusivity toward the selected authors. Nearly all the major representative authors from the third and fourth periods are included. This selection helps to understand the overall transition process of these periods. Among them, it is especially worth mentioning that both Bi Shumin and Li Yunxiu are female writers. Reading science fiction by female authors allows you to experience a unique style in science fiction literature. Their works, apart from being rich in imagination and imbued with a strong sense of science fiction, are also filled with compassion and tenderness. In this regard, Father Old A stands out particularly.
The second characteristic is the effort to reflect the scientific charm of science fiction literature from multiple perspectives. In this anthology, readers can find thrilling interstellar journeys, marvels created by robots and computer networks, and inspiration drawn from traditional medicine and archaeology. Finally, and most importantly, science fiction literature, through science, presents us with a broad prospect of various ancient contradictions taking on new forms in the future survival of humanity. Will we still preserve our basic moral principles? What sacrifices will we make in the face of environmental crises? Can science and technology bring us to the limits of reason?
This book is edited by Gao Hongbo as the chief editor, with A La as the deputy chief editor, and Wu Yan, An Ran, and others as editors. They have read a vast amount of science fiction works and selected representative chapters from numerous pieces, making it a book that combines both readability and collectibility.
