Is a large intrauterine gestational sac an indication of ectopic pregnancy?

Patient's question:

Ultrasound findings; Anterior position of the uterus, decreased volume, a large gestational sac seen inside the uterus, but currently no fetal heartbeat or other detectable signs. The doctor said it's pregnancy, but I'm still a bit worried why there's no fetal sound. Can this condition rule out ectopic pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

If the gestational sac has already been observed inside the uterus, it means ectopic pregnancy has been ruled out. However, it is still unknown whether the growth and development are normal, as the fetal heartbeat and bud have not yet been seen. A careful check-up will be needed after one week. Sexual activity should be avoided during the first three months, as it may lead to miscarriage. Additionally, oral folic acid should be taken to prevent neural tube defects. During the treatment period, daily routines, diet, and living habits should be regular, and staying up late should be avoided. If one frequently stays up late, it may also lead to a decline in immunity.
