Patient's question:
What can be carefully checked during prenatal examinations? Are there any careful checks that can be skipped? For example, things like the Tissue Screen?Doctor's answer:
The system's prenatal check-up includes many items. Early pregnancy check-ups primarily focus on understanding the basic vital signs of the pregnant mother, who may have complications. Between weeks 11 and 13+6, a detailed fetal color ultrasound NT examination is conducted to screen for the risk of chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus. Between weeks 15 and 20+6, a further screening for chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus is performed through the triple screen. Between weeks 20 and 28, a four-dimensional color ultrasound major anomaly examination is conducted. Between weeks 24 and 28, a glucose tolerance test is performed. At week 30, a color ultrasound small anomaly examination and liver/kidney function tests are required, along with a complete blood count to understand if the pregnant mother has early pregnancy complications. After week 32, a fetal heart monitoring test is conducted weekly. These are all mandatory prenatal check-up items, and others are optional.
