Features: First, this is a comprehensive textbook introducing the clinical legal education course. Clinical legal education is student-centered, teaching-oriented, and uses legal aid as a means. It employs methods such as case discussions, role-playing, individualized guidance, and learning by doing to train students in various aspects as "legal professionals," including client interviews, consultations, fact investigation, negotiation, mediation, legal writing, litigation skills, and more, ultimately enhancing students' critical thinking abilities. This is the fundamental characteristic that distinguishes clinical legal education from other courses. Second, this is also a monograph on teaching methods in legal education. Guided by the most prominent educational theories worldwide, this book explores several methods of legal education. Among them, role-playing teaching is an embodiment of "experiential" or "situated" learning theory in clinical legal education; individualized guidance teaching reflects the "student-centered" education model in clinical legal education; and collaborative, feedback, and evaluation teaching embodies the "construction and interaction" theory of constructivist education in clinical legal education. Reading-based teaching, on the other hand, reflects the modern trend of legal education toward cultivating interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary talents. These teaching experiences derived from clinical legal education courses, although still difficult to fully showcase the rich educational theories they aim to follow, will undoubtedly provide a new perspective for the reform of legal education in our country.
