Features: The content of this book may be familiar to you all, perhaps already known through newspapers. For this reason, we were somewhat hesitant to formally publish it. However, our bold initiative to release this book is to ensure it provides assistance to all Go enthusiasts. Members of our Seongam Research Society regularly gather to discuss new offensive and defensive strategies in Go, and upon the proposal of Korea's monthly Go magazine, we began a column titled "Research Report Book" in the magazine starting from its 10th issue in 1989. Over the course of a year, our research was warmly welcomed by readers. Due to internal reasons within the society, we temporarily suspended the column for six months before resuming it in the monthly magazine until December 1991. After that, our research was shrouded in mystery. During the one-year-and-nine-month period, we published studies on 35 types of Go offensive and defensive strategies. From these, we have selected 31 types to compile this book as a gift to all Go enthusiasts. The second volume, which is mostly unpublished, is scheduled for future release. We hope that all Go enthusiasts will enjoy it.
