Features: The preparatory committee of the International Wushu Federation was established during the th International Wushu Invitational held in Xi'an, China, in August 1985. The International Wushu Federation was officially founded in Beijing, China, in October 1990. After ten years of effort, the International Wushu Federation has developed into an international sports organization with 83 member associations across five continents. In 1994, it was accepted as a formal member of the International Association of Sports Federations in Monaco, and in June 1999, it was recognized by the International Olympic Committee at the IOC Session held in Seoul, South Korea. Since 1991, the International Wushu Federation has successfully hosted five editions of the World Wushu Championships in China, Malaysia, the United States, Italy, and Hong Kong. With the rapid development of international wushu, higher requirements have been placed on wushu competitions. For this reason, the Chinese Wushu Association, under the commission of the International Wushu Federation, organized experts from some member associations to create new international wushu competition routines, including Changquan, Jianшу, Daоshù, Gunшу, and Qiangshù. After approval by the Technical Committee of the International Wushu Federation, these routines were passed at the International Wushu Federation Representative Conference in Hong Kong in November 1999. The publication of books for five routines is presented as a gift to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the International Wushu Federation.
