Features: Wang Xuejiao was born in 1929 in Shengze Town, Wujiang City, Jiangsu Province, into a scholarly family. Her grandfather, Wang Yanren, was a disciple of the Qing Dynasty Haipai master Ni Tian. Influenced by her family's cultural heritage, Wang Xuejiao developed a love for painting from a young age and honed a delicate calligraphy skill. She began studying painting in 1943 and, in 1946, became the disciple of the renowned female painter Wu Qingxia in Shanghai. Through diligent practice, her artistic skills greatly improved. In 1984, her work "The Burial of Flowers" was included in the Shanghai "Art Annual."
After the founding of New China, she moved to Beijing and studied painting under the famous figure painter Wang Shuji and Mr. Wu Yige, focusing on painting women. She also sought advice on some of her works from me. Her paintings of women are graceful and elegant, with solid foundations, smooth lines, captivating poses, and a lively spirit. She is also skilled in painting fish, wild geese, and flowers and birds, all of which are masterfully crafted, vivid, and reflect her unique bright and refined Jiangnan style. Her artistic repertoire is wide-ranging, encompassing both meticulous and freehand techniques, making her a rare talent among female painters.
