Features: This table is compiled based on the general division of Chinese social history. Before this reprint, it underwent significant revisions. The years at the end of each dynasty in the table indicate the rise and fall periods in the Common Era. The numbers below each emperor indicate the number of years they reigned; those less than a year are rounded up to one year. For emperors who had multiple reign names, only the first established reign name is listed. The reign names for the "Sixteen Kingdoms," "Northern Dynasties," and "Southern Dynasties" are omitted. The names of cities under each dynasty are the capitals. The table only lists the initial capitals and does not include modern names. Major peasant uprisings in history are highlighted in the table, with state names provided where applicable. Feudal landlord armed forces are either minimized or omitted. During the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, when small states were numerous in the Central Plains, only the more important ones are listed. In addition to recording the Liao, Jin, and Xia dynasties, this table also includes Western Liao, the genealogy of the Mongols before Kublai Khan's rule in the Central Plains, and the lineage of the Later Jin before the Manchu conquest of the Central Plains, all of which are arranged accordingly.
