Features: During the development of the examination syllabus, we consulted the expert panel led by Shanghai International Studies University President Dai Weidong and vice-led by Shanghai University of International Business and Economics Vice President Wang Xingsun on the syllabus and examination, and conducted surveys and analyses on the current state of professional English proficiency in the field of foreign economic activities. We combined our experience in business English teaching and foreign training. We also studied and referenced various English examinations (especially those related to international business English), drawing on and learning the features of these examinations that met the requirements of the aforementioned documents. Based on this, we preliminarily drafted the examination syllabi for the three levels: elementary, intermediate, and advanced. According to the expert panel's suggestions, we first piloted the elementary examination, using it as a starting point to explore experience and strive to ensure that the examinations at all levels are organically linked. This aims to scientifically, comprehensively, and objectively assess the examinees' business English application skills. Therefore, this syllabus temporarily includes sample questions and answers for the elementary examination. Through relevant teaching, training, and examination practices, we hope to gather opinions, suggestions, and criticisms from all parties to make the examinations at all levels and the entire examination syllabus more scientific, objective, and feasible.
