Features: Urology and andrology are important branches of surgery. With the development of society, scientific progress, and improved living standards, people's demand for a colorful quality of life has become increasingly urgent. Therefore, medical disciplines need to adapt accordingly. Urology and andrology are highly distinctive disciplines, with a significant proportion of congenital and genetic diseases falling within this field. Additionally, many urological diseases exhibit clear regional and age-related differences. Urology and andrology is also a continuously evolving discipline. With the passage of time, the spectrum of diseases has undergone numerous changes. Diseases that were once rare have now become common, while those previously considered prevalent are rarely encountered today. Especially with the rapid development of related disciplines, the emergence of new fields, and the interpenetration of interdisciplinary knowledge, traditional diagnostic and treatment methods have been transformed. For instance, the application of B-mode ultrasound in clinical practice has significantly enhanced non-invasive diagnostic capabilities in urology and andrology. The advent of CT and MRI has been a godsend for clinical urology and andrology. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, laser medicine, and endoscopic techniques have further empowered urologists and andrologists. It is evident that the development of urology is inseparable from and benefits greatly from the advancement of related disciplines. The continuous progress of the times and the rapid changes in science have made us deeply aware of our knowledge gaps, especially for healthcare professionals working on the clinical front who urgently need to "recharge" to keep pace with the times. In light of these reasons and to ensure that this monograph comprehensively reflects the latest achievements and content in urology and andrology, we organized colleagues from the Urology Institute of Fudan University, including hospitals such as Huashan, Zhongshan, Pediatrics, Oncology, and the Urology departments of City Five and City Six, as well as experts from basic disciplines at Fudan University Shanghai Medical College to co-author the book. Additionally, some specific content was specially invited from scholars from other sister hospitals to participate. We hope to gather diverse insights and express different opinions, reflecting the practicality, innovation, and clinical guidance value of the monograph.
