Features: Language and characters are carriers of information and culture, as well as important indicators of cultural development. The standardization and normalization of language and characters hold significant importance for the stability and progress of a nation. To implement the "National Common Language and Characters Law of the People's Republic of China," promote the popularization and standardization of Mandarin, and overcome and eliminate the irregular and chaotic phenomena in the use of language and characters, we have compiled this manual. The manual primarily serves secretaries, editors, journalists, program hosts, announcers, actors, and other professionals engaged in publicity, news, and literary work. It also caters to the needs of Chinese language teaching for both domestic and international audiences, as well as general readers with intermediate education levels. Based on the officially promulgated national standards for language and characters, the manual references various published reference books, materials, and writings, emphasizing informativeness, practicality, and scientific rigor. The main body is divided into three parts: reading, writing, and usage of words and phrases. Due to differing perspectives in the narration, some words and phrases may appear multiple times. In addition to the main text, an index and related materials are provided to facilitate easy reference and retrieval for readers.
