Features: Imprisonment has become the center of the penal system in modern times, with the main purpose of correctional execution being to reform offenders and reintegrate them into society. However, the means of isolating offenders from normal society through imprisonment to achieve the goal of resocialization creates a profound contradiction between the means and the goal. In an increasingly open modern society, the operating costs of imprisonment continue to rise, while its reformative effectiveness remains disappointing. To address this issue, the idea of "socialized correction" has emerged in the West, advocating for the cautious use of imprisonment and the placement of offenders in society for correction as much as possible. At the same time, the of prisons is weakened to make them as close as possible to their own society, and the participation of social forces in the selfless cause is expanded to facilitate offenders' reintegration into society. Socialized correction represents the national trend of the development of correctional execution. Under the guidance of this trend, the promotion of correctional reform in China has already gained momentum. This book aims to systematically and deeply explore the connotation, value, and theoretical foundation of the idea of socialized correction, and to propose recommendations for its implementation in China's correctional practice. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the main body of the book is divided into eight chapters.
