Features: "The Formation and Development of the Cohesion of the Chinese Nation" is a national philosophy and social sciences fund "Eight-Five" key research project led by Professor Fei Xiaotong and undertaken by the Institute of Sociology and Anthropology at Peking University. The core of this project is to analyze the history of ethnic relations in our country, combine with the main problems in ethnic relations in modern and current China, compare and learn from the research achievements and experience of social sciences at home and abroad in dealing with ethnic issues, and conduct a systematic and in-depth analysis of the current state of ethnic relations in China. It aims to understand the inherent cohesion in the formation and development of the Chinese nation and the basic characteristics of ethnic relations in China. The results of the project are divided into two parts. The first part is the research on the basic theories and main research topics of ethnic issues in our country, compiled into "The Formation and Development of the Cohesion of the Chinese Nation." This book is the second part, reflecting the achievements obtained by the project team through field research in grassroots communities in various ethnic minority areas such as Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Tibet, Qinghai, Yunnan, Hubei, and Hunan. These research reports can help us gain a systematic, comprehensive, and in-depth understanding of the specific current situations and challenges in the social, economic, cultural, religious, and educational development of various ethnic minority areas in China, based on actual survey materials. They also lay a foundation for future research on ethnic relations, providing a basis for continued effort.
