Features: The book "Research on Western European Socialist Parties and European Integration" primarily explores the relationship between Western European Socialist Parties and European integration. It consists of four parts: the attitude of Western European Socialist Parties towards European integration, the European integration policies of Western European Socialist Parties and their evaluation, an analysis of the main factors influencing the European integration policies of Western European Socialist Parties, and the transformation of Western European Socialist Parties in the process of European integration. Although Western European Socialist Parties adhere to internationalist theory, they are actually parties of nation-states. Therefore, they hold different attitudes towards the post-war European integration process that entered the stage of practical implementation. The European Community—European Union is an interest formed by Western European capitalist countries. It is a manifestation of post-war European capitalism being unable to continuously adjust production relations to adapt to the ever-developing large-scale socialized production within the limits allowed by its production methods. It has played a role in promoting the development of contemporary European capitalism. At the same time, the development of European capitalism under the context of European integration is also a process of it gradually moving towards socialism. European integration has laid material preparations for the future transition of European capitalism to socialism. European left-wing parties must face this reality and make corresponding strategic choices to influence the European integration process dominated by the market and aimed at economic interests. Within the European Union, they must uphold the interests of the working people and create more favorable conditions for the future transition of Europe from capitalism to socialism.
